Tourniquet: Tales from the Renegade City 26/05/2007 . Source: Jessica Martin
The Debut Novel from Dark Fantasy Author, Kim Lakin-Smith Future Nottingham has earned its tag as the UK’s gun capital. Origin, the greatest rock band of the century, buy off local government and revamp and remarket Nottingham as a goth-noir paradise called Renegade City. The freaks, geeks and greebos of the world move in, find a new religion called Belief and, with it, the freedom to live as fantastically as they choose.
But when lead singer and dark messiah, Roses, dies in suspicious circumstances, drummer, Druid is tasked with hunting his brother’s killer. Reclusive and burdened with guilty secrets of his own, Druid is forced out into a city of his making, where belief is crumbling and all that kept the darkness safe is at risk.
Street punk, Jezebel, has already experienced the dangers first hand. While Druid is fire-fighting to preserve the spirit of Renegade City, Jezebel just wants her brother back. The only problem is he’s joined the Skinwalkers, a bikers’ gang who take their animal instincts literally.
In an Edenic gothika where rock gods rule and the fanciful and the freakish live however they goth damn please, Druid and Jezebel find their paths united against man made monstrous in the ultimate game for liberty itself.
Tourniquet is the debut novel from dark fantasy author, Kim Lakin-Smith, with exclusive artwork from Uninvited Guest keyboardist and renowned alternative music DJ, Lucas Swann, and featuring lead singer, Dean Hathway, as cover model.
Kim Lakin-Smith lives in two fifths of a Victorian gothic manor house with her mini demon of a daughter and dark lord of a husband.
