Forbidden Planet to host Star Wars event - Thursday 12th July 2007. Megastore is to be the European location for the upcoming Gentle Giant World Tour celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars. The event will feature the demonstration of a real 3D scanner as used by Hollywood film-makers on their top stars such as Angelina Jolie, Samuel L Jackson and Daniel ‘Harry Potter’ Radcliffe. A select number of customers will get the chance to have their features scanned and gain a commemorative certificate - and one winner will be made into a Gentle Giant Star Wars figure.
Released on the day, there will be limited edition merchandise, exclusive to Forbidden Planet. There will also be a signing by the man behind Gentle Giant, Karl Meyer.
Gentle Giant developing 3D technology for film special effects and production. They employ these techniques to create statues and busts for movie franchises including Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Spider-Man and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Forbidden Planet is located at 179 Shaftesbury Ave, London.
