Spook Country 28/07/2007 . Source: Jessica Martin
William Gibson will be signing copies of his new book Spook Country at the Forbidden Planet Megastore, 179 Shaftesbury Avenue, London, WC2H 8JR, on Wednesday 29th August 2007 1-2pm. Buy Spook Country in the USA - or Buy Spook Country in the UK In 1984 Gibson invented the now common phrase ‘cyberspace’ first used in his seminal novel Neuromancer. That book won him the Hugo Award, the Nebula Award and the Philip K. Dick Award.
William started writing in 1977 when a lack of interest in anything else saw him revisit his childhood love of Sci-Fi. He hasn’t stopped writing since. Spook Country is the sequel to his last book Pattern Recognition. It follows several different plotlines concentrating on a man working in information transfer, an investigative journalist, a junkie and a military troubleshooter.
Spook Country also deals with themes of espionage and the media. Added to all that this political thriller also revolves around a mysterious cargo from Iraq.
