Chronicles Of The Lescari Revolution is a fantasy trilogy that tells of political upheaval born of civil war in the country of Lescar. Carved out of the collapse of the Old Tormalin Empire, the land has long been laid waste by its rival dukes, while bordering nations look on with indifference or exploit its misery. A mismatched band of exiles and rebels are agreed that the time has come for change.

Solaris Publisher Marc Gascoigne told SFcrowsnest.com, "Having long been a fan of Juliet's wildly imaginative fantasy novels, it's a genuine delight to sign her new trilogy for Solaris. With our ability to release her work simultaneously into the US and UK markets, we can both satisfy countries. Juliet's large British fanbase and take her out to a much wider audience."

STRAWS IN THE WIND, the first book in the trilogy, will be published by Solaris in the UK and the US in Summer 2008. Distribution will be through Simon & Schuster in both Juliet McKenna has been interested in fantasy stories since childhood, from Winnie the Pooh to The Iliad.

An abiding fascination with other worlds and their peoples played its part in her subsequently reading Classics at St. Hilda's College, Oxford. After combining bookselling and motherhood for a couple of years, she now fits in her writing around her family and vice versa. She lives with her husband and children in West Oxfordshire, England.
