In the Serpent's Coils
01/08/2007 Source: Jessica Martin

This Autumn 2007, Wizards of the Coast-backed scifi publisher Mirrorstone, the publisher of A Practical Guide to Dragons, is to launch a historical fantasy series for girls ages thirteen and up, with In the Serpent's Coils, the first in what will eventually be a ten-book series.

As Corrine recovers from the fever that has taken her mother's life, she hears a soft, inhuman voice emanating from the hawthorne bush in her uncle's garden. She responds, taking the first steps on a path that leads to a cache of cryptic love letters, a reform school where girls are disappearing, and a handsome boy who may be in league with the Unhallowed Fey. Who can Corrine trust?

The second book in the series, By Venom's Sweet Sting, will be published in December 2007.

Discussion guides will be available at www.mirrorstonebooks.com and www.hallowmere.com. Series author Tiffany Trent, www.tiffany-trent.com, teaches English at Virginia Tech and holds master's degrees in English, Creative Writing, and Environmental Studies.

Mirrorstone's owner, Wizards of the Coast, is a trading card game and tabletop roleplaying game firm best known for Magic The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons.
