Christie's auction house is getting sued after a furious fan claims he was sold a dud Star Trek item which the actor who played android Data, Brent Spiner, later allegedly uncovered as false. Buy Star Trek in the USA - or Buy Star Trek in the UK  Ted Moustakis of New Jersey (pronounced New Joysey by many of its residents) paid $6000 for a poker visor at a Christie's auction, one which the android with feelings was meant to have worn in a poker-playing scene on a Trek Next Gen episode.
It was this poker visor which Brent Spiner is then said to have told Ted at a Trek con that he had sold himself in a private sale, so QED, his poker visor was unlikely to the real deal.
"They defrauded collectors, fans, honest people," said Moustakis' lawyer, Richard Borzouye. "It's negligent misrepresentation."
For anyone who feels that a poker visor of any stripe is worth $6000, SFcrowsnest.com has a soiled yoghurt cartoon which Patrick Stewart is said to have supped out of in 2001 ... yours for only $2999!
