Various top fantasy authors are interviewed by the fab Fantasy Book Critic about their picks of forthcoming fantasy novels for the year ahead. Among the selection, the 2004 winner of the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer, Jay Lake, has Stephen Hunt's Court of the Air (the US edition from Tor) in the gun-sights. Buy The Court of the Air in the USA - or Buy The Court of the Air in the UK  Jay kindly says of the Court of the Air, “American release of a British book which I recently had the privilege of reading for a blurb. An awesome realization, bending steampunk, Dying Earth, Aztec cosmology, and English history together.”
Meanwhile, JV Jones has House of Meetings by Martin Amis as a top pick for 2008, while the Brit's own Joe Abercrombie thinks that we should be reading A Dance With Dragons by George R. R. Martin.
