This year it is British Science Fiction Association’s 50th birthday, and they're putting the candles on their cake and running some fancy events to celebrate. Hey, let's party like it's err, 1999. Buy Celebrations in the USA - or Buy Celebrations in the UK As part of the celebrations they're publishing Celebrations - an anthology of new British SF short fiction featuring writers such as Brian Aldiss, Stephen Baxter, Ken MacLeod, Christopher Priest, Liz Williams, Alistair Reynolds, Brian Stableford, Tricia Sullivan, Molly Brown, Jon Courtenay Grimwood, M. John Harrison and Adam Roberts - said tome to be launched at Eastercon.
They've also got the 50th Anniversary BSFA Awards at Eastercon – and a range of panels looking back over the last 50 years of fandom at the Con, picking this year’s best novel and a retro award for 50 years ago, a new website, and their AGM will feature a panel of fans who were around at the founding of the BSFA (and they’re having a birthday party in November).
