Here comes ZombieCon 2008, the first UK convention celebrating the Zombie genre.

Buy Grindhouse in the USA - or Buy Grindhouse in the UK

It's being held 5th-7th September 2008 at the Quality Hotel, Bentley, Walsall, UK. Aye, that's Quality, that is.

ZombieCon will be two and a half days and two nights of Zombie-related frolics with demonstrations, workshops, talks, games, masquerade and a disco. Just don't drop any body parts on the dance floor.

Guests include Charlie Adlard, the comic artist on the Walking Dead series; Stuart Conran, the prosthetic/special effects makeup artist on Shaun of the Dead, Grindhouse and Braindead; David Devereux, the author of the Exorcist; John McCrea, the comic artist on Hitman; and that good old todger Robert Rankin, the fantasy author behind Necrophenia and The Brightonomicon.

There's going to be zombie makeup and prosthetic demonstrations by film make up artists followed by hands-on workshops, some talks and discussions on all things zombie, undead-related, or just downright … weird, and potentially life-threatening games to be played such as Mall Mania, BrainStomping, and Whack-A-Corpse.

The two themed Discos are Prom Night and the Dead Can’t Dance. Well, that's okay, because most Fans can't dance either (and I include myself in that sweeping statement).
