Yesterday on Thursday May 22nd 2008, US fantasy author Robert Asprin died. Robert's family said, "Bob passed away quietly in his home in New Orleans, LA. He had been in good spirits and working on several new projects, and was set to be the Guest of Honor at a major science fiction convention that very weekend (Marcon: ed). He is survived by his mother, his sister, his daughter and his son, and his cat, Princess, not to mention countless friends and fans and numerous legendary fictional characters. He will be greatly missed."
Robert Asprin was born in 1946. Robert was best known for his fantasy novels such as the Myth Adventures of Aahz and Skeeve, his Phule’s Company novels, and more recently the Time Scout novels co-written with Linda Evans. He also edited the excellent Thieves’ World anthology series with Lynn Abbey.
His most recent collaborations include License Invoked and several new Myth Adventures novels, all co-written with fellow SFF author Jody Lynn Nye.
Here at the Nest we're sorry he's Myth-ing, and we sure did love Aahz and Skeeve... Aahz was a demon with heart, just like RA's works. |
