Beware of small ray-guns
18/07/2008 Source: Jessica Martin

Here comes the latest miniaturised Raygun from the Dr. Grordbort's line, the Goliathon 83 - Miniature Version. Small, but like our flatulence in SFcrowsnest Towers, deadly.

Once again, using the same advanced Nanna Technologistics, Dr. Grordbort's dextrous atomic manipulations have allowed the miniaturisation of a full-sized Aether Oscillator, the feared and quite hefty, Goliathon 83. Comic-Con San Diego July 2008 will be the only physical location at which they will be selling this masterpiece of micronised murder machinery.

At one quarter of its original scale, this finely detailed piece captures all the elaborate detail of its full-scale counterpart and like those larger guns, will be made in metal.

This piece will be limited edition and a small allotment of 400 units will shortly be available at this years Comic Con 08 selling for US $40 - at last years show, all 500 Miniature Manmelters sold out in short order, so patrons will have to be in quick.

Doctor Grordbort's Infallible Aether Oscillators (otherwise known as Rayguns) are 1:1 scale antique styled sci-fi hand weapon props, conceived by Weta designer Greg Broadmore and built by Master Model Maker David Tremont. With 1900s contraption styling and finish, the Rayguns evoke the nostalgia of a lost age of exploration and discovery.

To date, the four pieces revealed from the Weta Originals Rayguns range include the Manmelter 3600ZX Sub-Atomic Disintegrator Pistol, FMOM Industries Wave Disrupter Gun, the Goliathon 83 Infinity Beam Projector and now the Victorious Mongoose.
