SCIFI Channel to show new Stargate movies in US

The SCIFI Channel has stumped up the folding green stuff for the two new Stargate movies, Stargate The Ark of Truth, and Stargate Continuum, for a US television premiere due to air in Spring 2009. Buy Stargate The Ark of Truth in the USA - or Buy Stargate The Ark of Truth in the UK  Continuing the tale of the Stargate SG-1 television series, Stargate: The Ark of Truth picks up after Unending, the SG-1 series finale. Searching for an ancient weapon which could help them defeat the sinister Ori force, SG-1 discovers it may be in the Ori's own home galaxy, and the crew finds themselves fighting two powerful enemies. The film stars Amanda Tapping, Beau Bridges, Michael Shanks, Ben Browder, Christopher Judge, and Claudia Black.
Stargate: Continuum sees members of SG-1 returning to an Earth where their history has been dramatically altered. Continuum reunites Richard Dean Anderson as Jack O'Neill, with the series other crewmembers. The most northerly-filmed movie production in history, Stargate: Continuum features visual effects, battle sequences and scenes shot on the Arctic ice.
Directed by Martin Wood (Sanctuary) and written by Brad Wright, the second movie finds Ba'al going back in time and tries to prevent the Stargate program from ever being started. The SG-1 team must restore history and once again save the galaxy from Ba'al's domination. |
