Sci-Fi
Model Madness
Us chaps and chapesses at the Nest are suckers for model kits and
figures - most of us grew up painting ERTL Battlestar Galactica
kits and Ral Patha dragons (not to mention Games Workshop's industrial
scale output).
Imagine then our delight that while surfing over Christmas we came
across this fine set of articles from the magazine SciFi and Fantasy
Models (a monthly British glossy you can pick up from news-agents
like WH Smith).
They're in Adobe PDF format - a file type which preserves the article's
look and feel exactly as it appeared in print (and is ideal for
printing off too). You can download the reader software free from
Adobe if you haven't already
got it.
Here's those fab articles for free download
1.
Scratch building an ornithopter (for those not in the
know, this is a fantasy winged flying machine that's appeared in
works as diverse as Dune and Moorcock's Eternal Champion series).
2.
Building your own Cyberman from Doctor Who
3.
Building the Speeder Bike from Return of The Jedi
4.
Creature FX for amateur film makers
5.
Building the Eagle starship from Space 1999
They've promised updates and new PDF articles sampled from their
regular print issues, so if SF model kits and the figure painting
end of RPG is your thing, then keep up to date with their site over
here.
