You
too can star in an animated SF flick ...
It may be a real short, painful part though.
Here's the good news, science fiction fans. You
have a good chance of being able to star in a new science fiction
movie, called BloodQuest.
Here's the bad news, the film is likely to be set
in the most depressing SF universe since Victor Meldrew - in an
alternative universe - was cast as Trek's Captain Picard.
Which depressing SF universe are we talking about?
Why, a certain Warhammer 40K universe, very TM and (C) of Games
Workshop.
For those of you that were never into science fiction
tabletop wargaming, Warhammer is a grim and bleak tale of a human
colonized galaxy at war with demons from another dimension. Kind
of like Aliens crossed with Cthulu. It's all very gothic, with a
miserable humanity ruled by a living corpse hanging on for survival
in the face of constant punishment from the forces of darkness.
The animated version of this dirge of misery is
currently being touted by a Canadian independent production company,
Exile Films.
They say they were "formed to create and produce
quality CGI, for both fully animated and live-action movies."
Whose "technology will be complemented by a handpicked team
of modelers, animators and technical directors, drawn not only from
Hollywood but also from leading studios in Canada and the United
Kingdom."
They go on to boast: "As an independent production
company, Exile Films maintains creative control with no restrictions
or compromises in producing the projects it selects. Exile Films
will acquire, develop and produce movies for worldwide distribution
and, in addition, provide effects animation services to the television
and movie industries."
Now, here's how you can get into the movie - bearing
in mind it's a CGI-led cartoon film that's being planned.
All you have to do is visit their site and send
in a "head and shoulders" jpeg picture of yourself, along with a
short explanation of why you would make a great Space Marine, Imperial
Guardsman or Ork.
They'll then use some 3D rendering software to
put you into three dimensions and glue you onto one of the main
characters, small walk-on parts, or feature in a massive crowd scenes.
Do please bear in mind that given the subject matter,
you are likely to be devoured by gene stealers, torn apart by demon-infested
chaos marines, or tortured by Imperial Inquisitors.

into Hollywood, surf on over to ...

I think they'd be better of making a movie that concentrates on
the space battle side of things ... far more interesting. What I
wouldn't give to see a Star Trek, Warhammer 40K style!
