After the defeat of the Inquisition on the
island, Cathan is engaged to act as a go-between to sell weapons
to other rebels on the peninsula.
Unfortunately,
they all have a different agenda. The rebels want the overthrow
the emperor and to become a republic. T
he pharaoh does not trust Gahan, even though he knows her secret
identity. Gahan wants to find a ship, long since sunk which holds
secrets that will undermine the Domain and end the power of the
inquisition.
Plot and counterplot ensue, resolved in a thrilling climax.
One of the problems of reviewing a book like this is that because
of the lack of action it is difficult to outline the plot. But because
there is a lack of action as such, does not make this a bad book.
Far from it. It is a superb piece of work and should go on to enhance
this young writer's reputation.
One to buy. Highly recommended.
