All
right. So, I’m a sucker for books about TV shows. I’ll give you
one guess what this one is about.
‘Knight Rider’ was the first of high-tech vehicles
moving away from the sit-com orientation played strictly for laughs.
It was also a reasonable hit for three seasons before declining
in its fourth season but backthen, this was still respectable viewing
figures compared today.
If
you haven’t caught on in the re-runs, ‘Knight Rider’ the series
is about a former police detective given a new identity in an unusual
witness replacement programme and allowed out on the streets with
a remarkable AI talking T-top car with other useful functions to
fight crime.
This book covers and interviews it’s creation by
Glen Larson to its stars, David Hasselhoff, Patricia MacPherson,
Rebecca Holden and William Daniels as well as key stunt driver Jack
Gill. There is also a rather intense episode guide with lots of
details.
If you ever wondered what record was played on a
particular episode, this covers the lot right down to what KITT
technology was used. It’s a shame that there was an absence of synopsises
when covering the ‘Team Knight Rider’ series but I get the feeling
that the omission was more to do with page count.
One has to admire the depth these two authors have
done on this series. If you’re a fan of ‘Knight Rider’, then you
really should be buying this book and be adding it to your collection.
It’s a great reference book on the subject.
