The Art Of X2: The Making Of The Blockbuster
Movie edited by Timothy Shaner

If
you’ve seen the second X-Men movie then you’re probably looking
around for books that tie-in.
With so much visual information, a book showing you storyboards,
photos and close-ups of the equipment let alone the actors and an
interview with director Bryan Singer is just the thing you’re looking
for, right?
Of
course you are. So why are you waiting to buy this book? Ah! You
want the deluxe version that has the complete shooting script and
a section on the first X-Men movie (I’m trying to persuade Titan
to let me look a copy of that one over) and a bit more detail on
the fury elf, Nightcrawler.
Buy this edition anyway, it’ll keep any younger siblings quiet
while you’ve got the more expensive book.
In many respects, this book is kinda light-weight in the reading
department. Whether it was me reading with intense interest quickly
or there was too many photos.
Getting a balance between both of these to please everyone is always
an impossible task but I suspect you’ll be after the photos anyway.
It is very much a set design book so you can admire the work that
was done in the film and it also contains a complete 5 page screen
credits listing showing how much work was done in this multi-million
pound film.
Now, all you need is a video to go with it and you can compare
to your heart’s content. Did I say there were film stills in here
that you haven’t seen in the media books yet?
Thought not.
